Greg was the co-lead of the Goldman Sachs select service hospitality platform for the past 11 years. The select service platform was once comprised of 350 hotels with an aggregate investment of over $5 billion.
Prior to Goldman, Greg was the CFO of The Rendina Companies and Builder Financial Group. Rendina Companies is a private developer of office, retail, residential and medical office properties. Rendina Companies' core business is the design, development, financing, leasing and management of medical office real estate. Builder Financial was a specialty lending platform to residential home builders in the Southeast.
Prior to this, Greg was the Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer of Innkeepers USA Trust. Innkeepers was a hotel real estate investment trust (REIT) listed on the NYSE. Greg was responsible for the capital budget and was responsible for supervising the renovation and re-branding of all of the company’s hotels.
For nearly 12 years prior to joining Innkeepers, Greg held various positions in the audit practice of Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, where he served as a Senior Manager and was a member of the firm’s Hospitality and Real Estate practice.
Randy was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Education Realty Trust (NYSE:EDR) from 2010 through November 2018. EDR develops, owns and manages student housing in the United States and was sold in September 2018 for $4.6 billion. During Randy’s almost 9 year tenure, EDR’s shareholders achieved a total shareholder return of 293%, ranking in the top 10% of all U.S. equity REITs. He is the lead independent director and a member of the board of trustees of MedEquities Realty Trust (NYSE: MRT), a public healthcare real estate company. In 2008, Randy was interim chief executive officer of Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., a publicly-traded family entertainment company (NASDAQ: WOLF) and was a member of its board from 2005 until its sale in 2012. He was president and chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Golden Horizons, the nation’s second largest senior care company, from 2006 to 2007. From 2004 until its sale in 2008, Randy served on the board of trustees of Innkeepers USA Trust. He served as president, chief operating officer and director of RFS Hotel Investors, Inc., a publicly-traded hotel real estate investment trust (NYSE: RFS), from 1999 until its sale in 2003. From 1997 to 1999, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer of FelCor Lodging Trust, Inc., a NYSE-listed hotel real estate investment trust (NYSE: FCH).
Scott was the Senior Vice President of Real Estate Acquisitions and Development for EdR from 2012 until EDR’s merger with Greystar Real Estate Partners in 2018. Scott was a key participant in all acquisitions, dispositions, and off-campus development activities. He also oversaw EdR's commercial leasing and management efforts (approximately 300,000 square feet owned). In the integration of EDR and Greystar, Scott was named Managing Director of Investments and was responsible for coordinating the process of growing the portfolio of student housing assets through domestic acquisitions at Greystar. He also continued the oversight of leasing and management of the commercial spaces within the company’s mixed-use properties. Scott remained with Greystar until late 2019. From 2002 to 2012, Scott led the retail brokerage business line for CBRE. As Senior Vice President of Retail Brokerage, Scott and his team were responsible for both tenant representation and asset services in the Mid-South. After securing his Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University, Scott immediately joined the team at Retail Realty Group in St. Louis. He was responsible for procuring sites for large retail tenants, developing shopping centers primarily in the Midwest, and investigating entitlement efforts and tax incentives.
Jim led the third-party management division of Fusion Hospitality overseeing sales, operations, and human resources for managed hospitality and food and beverage assets. Jim oversaw the recent opening of the Tru by Hilton in Mobile, Alabama, the acquisition of the Residence Inn in Jackson, Tennessee, and the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Jim also assisted in operations of Fusion’s portfolio of seventeen owned and managed hotels. Prior to joining Fusion, Jim managed a successful merger between Wilson Hotel Management and Valor Hospitality Partners and assumed the position of Regional Operations Director responsible for multiple brands and hotels. At Wilson Hotel Management (1986-2017), Jim had responsibility for all aspects of the Wilson Family’s hotel portfolio, including a variety of branded properties such as Embassy Suites by Hilton, Holiday Inn and Suites, and Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Additionally, Jim was responsible for the development, operations, financial performance, and relationship building for non-branded properties.
Frank served as the Senior Vice President of Finance and Controller of MCR from 2008 through 2017. During his tenure, Frank oversaw the corporate and hotel financial and accounting functions throughout the ground up development of 7 hotels, including an adaptive reuse development. MCR grew from 3 hotels to over 80 hotels through development and acquisitions. Frank was responsible for long and short-range financial and corporate planning, tax reporting, risk management, maintaining cash management systems, accuracy of all financial information and identifying financial trends. He was responsible for the implementation of processes and controls at over 80 developed and acquired hotels. He oversaw ownership accounting and investor reporting for MCR’s 20 institutional capital partners. He served on MCR’s Investment Committee during his tenure. Realized investment returns ranged from 16.6% to 49.9% during his tenure. The average return was 20.8% with a 2.0x equity multiple. His hospitality career includes serving as Corporate Controller of Highgate Hotels, Chief Financial/Administrative Officer of Flagstone Hospitality Management, and Finance Director with Hilton Hotels.
Edward most recently served as the head of EU Investment Analysis and Member of the EU Leadership Team at Sonder, Inc. During his tenure, Mr. Chang oversaw the build out of Sonder’s entire European investment analysis function. He also underwrote and negotiated hotel or serviced apartment lease deals in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands. Mr. Chang previously served as the Director of Investment and Asset Management at SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts. While there, he oversaw the sale of a $1.1 billion, 26-hotel portfolio which included the hotel management company, to a foreign investor. He also oversaw the sale of multiple other hotels, the negotiation of ground lease amendments, shared services agreements, and other hotel related agreements. His hospitality career includes positions at Goldman Sachs and Sun Hung Kai Properties, Four Seasons Hong Kong, Holiday Inn Vancouver, and Statler Hotel Ithaca.
